Privacy Policy

This policy explains how KaamWala App collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, and deletes personal data when you use the Android app or KaamWala website.

Our commitment: We do not sell personal data. We use personal data to operate, secure, support, and improve KaamWala.

1. Developer and privacy contact

Use these contacts for privacy questions, correction, deletion, consent withdrawal, or grievance requests. We may ask for reasonable information or OTP verification to confirm profile ownership.

2. Information we collect

Depending on the features you use, KaamWala processes:

  • Worker profile data: name, phone number, WhatsApp number, work category, skills, service description, notes, work grade, availability, service areas, selected places, profile status, ratings displayed on the profile, and referral information.
  • Photos and media: profile or work photos a worker chooses from the camera or device gallery and uploads.
  • Location data: selected service areas, map pins, addresses, district, city, and place information. Precise or approximate device location is used when a user actively chooses nearby search, map, directions, or location-sharing features.
  • Authentication data: an anonymous Firebase user identifier, worker phone number used for OTP verification, OTP request status, and profile ownership records. The OTP is not stored as part of the worker profile.
  • Search and interaction data: selected work and location criteria, profile views, contact or location unlock records, credits charged, referrals, saved-profile state, feedback, and related timestamps.
  • Payment and credit data: Google Play product and order details, purchase-token verification data, pack, price, currency, wallet balance, transaction history, purchase time, and purchase status. KaamWala does not receive or store full card, bank-account, or UPI credentials.
  • Device and technical data: app version, platform, language and local preferences, install or referral information, security signals, request logs, error details, and basic diagnostics.
  • Support data: messages and any name, email address, phone number, screenshots, or other information you choose to provide to support.

3. How we use personal data

  • Create, verify, display, update, hide, and delete worker profiles.
  • Match customers with workers by work type and location and show relevant search results.
  • Provide profile, call, WhatsApp, map, directions, referral, saved-profile, and customer-worker communication features.
  • Enforce contact and location unlock rules, issue and deduct credits, verify purchases, and maintain wallet records.
  • Send and verify OTPs, authenticate requests, prevent duplicate profiles, investigate abuse, and protect users and the service.
  • Respond to support, correction, deletion, payment, safety, and grievance requests.
  • Diagnose faults, maintain performance, improve search quality, and comply with applicable law.

KaamWala does not currently use personal data for targeted advertising.

4. Worker profile visibility

KaamWala is a worker-discovery service. Worker name, work type, service area, profile or work photos, notes, rating, and other selected profile details may be visible in search results or profile pages.

Phone, WhatsApp, and location details may be shown after the applicable access or credit-unlock step. When a user opens call, WhatsApp, map, directions, sharing, or email features, information is sent to the selected external app at the user's direction.

5. Data sharing and service providers

KaamWala may disclose the minimum data needed to:

  • Customers and workers: to display profiles, search results, and unlocked contact or location details for genuine work enquiries.
  • Google Firebase: Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Hosting for identity, database, file storage, server processing, security, and website delivery.
  • Google Play: Play Billing and the Google Play Developer API for purchase processing, verification, refunds, and fraud control.
  • MSG91: to deliver and verify phone-number OTP requests.
  • OpenStreetMap/Nominatim and navigation services: for map tiles, place lookup, reverse geocoding, maps, and directions requested by the user.
  • External communication apps: phone, WhatsApp, email, sharing, and navigation apps when deliberately opened by the user.
  • Authorities or advisers: when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, rights, safety, property, or the service.
  • A successor organization: in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to continued protection of personal data.

Service providers process data under their own terms and privacy practices. KaamWala does not authorize them to use app data for unrelated advertising.

6. Permissions and local device storage

Location permission is requested only when a user chooses a feature requiring current location. KaamWala does not request background location. Camera or gallery access is used only when a worker chooses to upload a photo.

The app stores limited information locally, including language, draft or profile identifiers, referral state, temporary unlock state, cached place data, and profiles a user chooses to save. Saved worker profiles expire after about 24 hours. Users can revoke permissions in Android settings or clear local data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.

7. Data retention

Worker profile information is retained while the profile is active or hidden and until it is deleted by the worker, removed for policy or safety reasons, or no longer needed to provide the service.

Operational wallet and unlock transaction records are generally marked for expiry after 120 days. Minimum Google Play purchase-verification, payment, fraud-prevention, dispute, security, tax, or legal records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary or required by law. Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed to resolve the request and meet legal or safety obligations.

8. Account and profile deletion

A worker can delete a profile inside the app from My Profile by selecting the profile, choosing Delete profile, and completing phone OTP verification.

Users who cannot access the app can email kaamwalasupport@gmail.com or use the instructions on the Account Deletion page. Deactivation or hiding is not treated as deletion.

9. Security

KaamWala uses HTTPS/TLS for network transmission, Firebase Authentication, database and storage access controls, server-side ownership checks, OTP verification for sensitive profile actions, restricted administrative access, and hashed purchase-token identifiers in stored purchase records.

No system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device and OTPs and report suspected unauthorized access to kaamwalasupport@gmail.com.

10. User rights and grievance redressal

Subject to applicable law, users may request access to information about their personal data, correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, deletion or erasure, withdrawal of consent for optional processing, or review of a privacy grievance.

Workers can update many profile fields directly in the app. For other requests, email kaamwalasupport@gmail.com with enough information to identify the relevant profile. Do not send an OTP or payment credential by email. We will verify ownership and respond within the period required by applicable law.

11. Children's privacy

KaamWala is a work-services marketplace intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly allow a child to create a worker profile or knowingly collect a child's personal data. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided data should contact support for review and deletion.

12. International processing and policy changes

Service providers may process or store data in India or other countries where they operate, subject to applicable legal requirements and contractual or technical safeguards.

We may update this policy when the app, providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised last-updated date. The Google Play Data safety form will be maintained consistently with this policy and the app's actual data practices.
